This is a list of superb places to stay and excellent places to eat that I will keep adding to as I experience them. You never know, you might like to visit them before or after you experience the Languedoc.
Castel d'Emporda
A beautiful Spanish castle on the outskirts of La Bisbal, near Gerona. Amazing accomodation and very good food. Make sure you stay in a room in the old castle. The new rooms are great as well, but you lose a little of the old castle feel.

Mourne Seafood Restaurants in Ireland - Belfast, Dundrum and Newcastle
These are three exceptional fish retaurants in Ireland. The restaurant I tried first was in Dundrum. Absolutley perfect food, exceptional quality of fish, all with a wonderful ambience and great service. I was then lucky enough to experience the Mourne Seafood Bar in Belfast and then the Mourne Cafe in Newcastle. Each restauarnt is very different, but each is equally brilliant. They are a "must" if you're in the area.
