Alegria
The Alegria is a recent addition to the Canal du Midi. It is very luxurious, with very large bedrooms and has all the extras you'd expect in a good hotel. Olivier, the charming owner and pilot, has been in the hospitality business for many years, and therefore understands high quality environments, entertainment and service. The furnishings have an African influence due to Olivier working in South Africa for 15 years. This is an exceptional barge and Olivier will make sure your cruise is of the highest quality, and a holiday you will never forget.

Athos

The Athos is a very popular and professionally run barge, owner operated, and with a professional chef. The bedrooms have recently been refurbished and are very comfortable, and the barge has a lovely relaxed feel, but with discreet service and attention to detail. They have 5 staff onboard for 10 guests, so you will be made to feel very special. This is an ideal choice for slightly larger groups, or for single cabin bookings.

Caroline
Caroline represents great value for money. The barge is very comfortable, and Ute and Uli will bend over backwards to make you welcome. They are multi-lingual, speaking German, Dutch, English, Spanish and French! Service is good; food is good; and the atmosphere is relaxed and homely. The deck is very spacious, with good vision all round for admiring the scenery as you glide along this beautiful waterway. Relax and unwind in the capable hands Ute and Uli.

Colibri

The Colibri is one of the latest additions to the barging world on the Canal du Midi, owner operated by the young couple, Fiona and Earl Pilatti. It is beautifully appointed, with great taste, and knowledge of how to use space on a barge. The cabins are very large compared with some barges, and the décor throughout is contemporary, with light colours and light oak finishes. Earl and Fiona have a background of the yachting world, so they understand exceptional service, and will make you very comfortable. Fiona is a good cook and hostess, and is also the engineer! Earl is pilot, guide and host. This is a great choice for a group of 4 people, looking for a high quality cruise.

Emma
Liz and Rene are wonderful hosts, Liz with her warm Irish welcome, and René with his French charm. You will be pampered and spoilt, and made to feel at home, whilst experiencing the very heart of French life. There is nothing this charming couple won’t do for you, and their barge is spacious, and very comfortable. Liz is an excellent chef, and loves to work with the specialities of the region. René grew up in this area, so knows all the anecdotes and traditions of the local people. That combined with the wonderful wines of the region, the history and the beautiful waterways, will make for a very memorable holiday onboard the Emma.

Enchante
Unique to the South of France, this double deck barge was completed in 2009 and is the newest Hotel Barge to cruise the Canal du Midi. Built in Belgium under the supervision of Parisian architect Philippe Nineuil of Technicarene, Enchante's contemporary design was developed by barging veterans Roger & Louisa Gronow who combined their years of experience working on a variety of barges to create a state of the art floating hotel. This is an exceptional barge.

Fandango
Hazel Young, the owner, was British born, educated in America, and has been resident in France for 30 years. She is one of the great characters of the barging world, and you will be entertained with her vibrant charisma, as well as her knowledge of food and the area. She has many anecdotes, and stories to tell, and she runs an efficient barge, with great service and attention to detail. The barge is very comfortable, and quite exotic in its decor! This is an excellent barge for those of you who like to meet new people, and maybe gain a few culinary hints from Hazel in the open kitchen.

Saint Louis
If you’re looking for absolute peace and tranquillity this section of the canal system is for you. You will hardly see another barge. Alasdair (great grandson of W.L. Wyllie – the marine artist) and Barbara, are exceptional hosts, and have many a story to tell. You will be welcomed like family, and they will do everything in their powers to make this an extra special week for you. The architecture of the local buildings is stunning, the countryside is unique, and the historical side trips will take your breath away. Great food and hospitality. Ask for Barbara’s fish soup!! It’s the best in France!!

Tango

This barge has the most beautiful interior. Not only is it spacious, but the French art deco fixtures, Provencal ivory linens, and rich teak wall panelling recreate an atmosphere of the 1930's French passenger liners. It is spectacular and feels decadent. If you want to be spoiled, this is the barge for you.
