Barge Name: ALEGRIA
Barge History: Was a 38 metre barge, which has been cut down and adapted for the Canal du Midi. It has been a B&B, and has just been refurbished as a luxury holiday vessel by it's owner, Olivier Baudry, in 2008.

  • 2, with large en-suite bathrooms. 
  • Beds can be either twins or king size doubles.
  • Each bedroom has it's own access to the outside, as well as in to the inside of the barge

The Alegria is the newest barge on the Canal du Midi. It is very luxurious, with very large bedrooms and has all the extras you'd expect in a good hotel. Olivier, the charming owner and pilot, has been in the hospitality business for many years, and therefore understands high quality environments, entertainment and service. The furnishings have an African influence due to Olivier working in South Africa for 15 years. This is an exceptional barge, made more so by the exceptional cuisine of the renowned chef, Peter Shaw. Olivier will make sure your cruise is of the highest quality, and a holiday you will never forget.
